Flint Town United ended a four-match winless run with a dominant 3-0 home victory over Ammanford AFC on Saturday. Two goals from T. Owolabi and one from L. Mendes secured a key three points for the Silkmen.
The result lifts Flint Town United to 13th in the Cymru Premier table, now with five points from their opening eleven games. It breaks a recent sequence of results that had seen the team lose three of their last four outings.
Owolabi opened the scoring six minutes into the second half, finding the net in the 51st minute. He doubled the lead just eleven minutes later, striking again in the 62nd minute before being replaced by A. Francis. L. Mendes put the result beyond doubt with a third goal in the 73rd minute, shortly before making way for C. Wilson.
Both managers made multiple changes as the game progressed, with Ammanford introducing H. Rowe, C. Thomas, J. M. Case, C. Shirt, and L. Davies from the bench. Flint's Y. Marquez also entered the fray late on, replacing I. Modi.
The win provides a significant boost ahead of the next fixture. Flint Town United are next in action at home against Holywell on 30 October.
