Flint Town United are determined to avoid another relegation battle this season, with manager Lee Fowler targeting a more secure campaign in the Cymru Premier. The Silkmen narrowly escaped the drop last term, finishing just above Bala Town, who were relegated to Cymru North.
What changed over the summer?
Fowler has overhauled the squad, bringing in seven new faces including 25-year-old Italian striker Temi Ajibola from Finn Harps. Lassana Mendes, Tunde Owolabi, Ben Woods, Joe Malkin, Harrison McGahey and Harry Dean have also joined. Departures include Jake Phillips, Ben Wynne and Elliott Reeves, the latter leaving due to a work-related move to London.
How has pre-season shaped up?
Flint Town United completed pre-season with five wins and one draw, though Fowler admits they faced limited tests. Their first league challenge comes tonight against newly promoted Llandudno, managed by Jordan Hadaway. The Silkmen’s next fixture after that is at home to Holywell on 2026-10-30, with the visitors currently 14th in the table.
What’s the manager’s verdict?
Fowler believes his side were among the league’s best last season but conceded too many goals and lacked firepower late on. He’s now focused on a stronger defensive record and more clinical finishing. “We look really energetic and fit,” he said, eyeing a positive start against direct opponents Llandudno.
