Flint Town United suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Colwyn Bay in the Cymru Premier on Saturday. Sol Forde's 26th-minute header proved decisive in a match where the visitors managed the windy conditions better, extending Flint's winless run to four matches.

The result leaves Flint 14th in the standings with just eight points from 13 games, a concerning position as they have now scored only 12 goals all season while conceding 25. Colwyn Bay took control early and found their breakthrough from a set piece. A short corner routine ended with Josh Williams delivering a cross that Forde met to head past goalkeeper Jack Flint. Flint was called into action again before the break, making a good stop to deny Aeron Edwards.

Playing with the wind in the second half, Flint Town United increased their pressure but struggled to create clear chances, a recurring issue reflected in their low goal tally. They were fortunate not to fall further behind when Lewis Sirrell struck the crossbar from a long throw. At the other end, Colwyn Bay keeper Mark Halstead was rarely tested, with the home side's best opportunity coming from a Callum Bratley effort that Jack Flint did well to turn around the post.

The game grew scrappy, with five yellow cards shown in the second half. Flint's Tomi Owolabi, Lufendo Mendes and Iwan Modi were all cautioned, as were Colwyn Bay's Declan Poole and Josh Williams. Daniel Holmes made three substitutions in search of an equaliser, bringing on Alex Francis, Liam Morrison and Yago Marquez, but his side could not find a way through a disciplined Colwyn Bay defence. The visitors introduced Louis Robles late on for his 200th league appearance and saw the game out professionally.

Flint Town United must now regroup ahead of their next league fixtures, a home match against Holywell on 30 October. The team will need to find more attacking threat from their squad to improve their form and climb away from the lower reaches of the table.

Manager Daniel Holmes said his players "didn't turn up" in the 1-0 defeat to Colwyn Bay on October 10. Holmes told S4C's Sgorio the performance was a shame and one to put right. The loss, which came from a Sol Forde header, leaves Flint Town United 14th in the Premier League with eight points from 13 games.
