Flint Town United have made their first signing of the summer transfer window, strengthening their ranks with the acquisition of striker Isaac Modi. The 22-year-old has previously played for Radcliffe in the Northern Premier League, while he started his career at Oldham Athletic. Following loan spells with Curzon Ashton and Trafford, he joined Radcliffe in January 2024. Modi was loaned out to Avro in January this year and Flint have made their move after he became a free agent. In addition, he has also appeared in the Baller League. A number of last season's squad will be remaining at the Essity Stadium for the forthcoming campaign. Flint's retained list of players contains Ben Hughes, Elliott Reeves, Harry Owen, Jack Flint, Lee Jonas, Jack Thorn, and Mikey Burke. "We look forward to seeing all of these players in Flint colours once again for the new campaign," said a club statement. Meanwhile, Jake Phillips, who departed the club earlier this summer, has signed for Cymru North Bala Town. Phillips, 29, enjoyed a three-year spell with Flint and he is the Lakesiders' second summer signing, following Naim Arsan. In the pre-Europe campaign friendly, Cymru Premier League champions The New Saints got the better of Connah's Quay Nomads in a behind-closed-doors clash at Park Hall. Brad Young scored twice for the Saints in a 4-0 victory with Ben Wilson's penalty and Josh Lock completing the scoring. Craig Harrison's Saints face Azerbaijani champions Sabah in the Champions League next month while Nomads take on FC Ballkani in the Conference League first qualifying round. Flint Town United currently sit 13th in the Cymru Premier League, with 0 points from 1 game, and are 3 points behind leaders Colwyn Bay. They have scored 2 goals and conceded 3 so far this season, with a goal difference of -1. Their next fixture is against Holywell at home on 2026-10-30.
