Flint Town United, Welsh Cup winners in 1954, are through to the last eight of this season's competition after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout win at fellow Cymru Premier club Penybont. The game was intense from the start, with Bont being reduced to 10-men after just seven minutes when striker Chris Venables was shown a straight red card. Following a goalless 90 minutes, the game went straight to penalties and Flint's Jake Phillips scored his side's winning penalty after Mael Davies had failed to convert his kick. Paulo Mendes and Connor Evans' late goals gave Caernarfon a dramatic 4-2 win over fellow Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met. Sion Bradley gave Caernarfon the lead but goals from Ryan Reynolds and Jasper Payne put the hosts ahead. Ryan Sears levelled for Caernarfon and with the game heading for penalties, Mendes scored their winner with a minute remaining before Evans got a fourth in stoppage time. Fellow Cymru Premier sides Barry Town United and Colwyn Bay were comfortable winners over tier two opposition. Barry were 4-0 winners over Gresford Athletic, who had won at Jenner Park in the competition in 2022, with goals from Ieuan Owen, Morgan Wigley and a brace from Ollie Hulbert. Aaron Williams scored a hat-trick as Colwyn Bay secured a 3-0 win at Pontypridd United. Late goals from Jack Smith and Sam Jones saw Ardal League side Bangor City 1876 finally overcome Trefelin BGC of the Cymru South with a 2-0 win at Nantporth. Fellow Tier Three side Trearddur Bay won 5-3 against Cymru South outfit Newport City. Osian Evans gave Porthmadog the lead at home against Rhyl 1879, who hit back with goals from Jack Parry and a stoppage time winner from Ben Lightfoot to seal a 2-1 victory. Caerau Ely also came from behind to advance against Llandudno. Adam Stephens – who was later sent-off - gave the Cymru North side the lead but Daniel Griffiths and Tim Parker won it for the hosts.
